POLYMER PAMPER PLAY

He asistido a varios eventos y cursos en los últimos años y sin duda este ha sido el mejor organizado de todos. Y eso se lo debemos a Debbie Carlton y Rebecca Thickbroom.

I attended several events and workshops in recent years and certainly this was the best organized of all. And that’s thanks to Debbie Carlton and Rebecca Thickbroom.

Imaginad un evento en el que cada alumna tenga una mesa de trabajo de 1,50x0,70 m. Dos televisiones de plasma enormes y un retroproyector para poder seguir las clases sin perder un solo detalle. Imaginad que hay una sala dedicada exclusivamente a los hornos, con zonas para dejar el trabajo que hay que hornear, otras para recoger lo cocido.

Imagine an event where every student has a desk of 1.50 x0, 70 m; two huge plasma TVs and a projector, so you can follow all the workshops without losing a single detail. Imagine that there is a room dedicated exclusively to the ovens, with areas to leave the work to be baking, others to collect the cooked.

Pensad que si os falta material podéis acercaros a la tienda (que está en otra sala) para comprar los que os falta.

Think of that if you need some materials you can go to the store (which is in another room) to buy what you need.

Imaginad que cada mañana os informan de todas las actividades que vais a realizar a lo largo del día. Que cuando os queréis tomar un cafetito sólo os tenéis que acercar al bar y allí está. O que os apetece un típico te inglés con pastas a las cinco de la tarde. O que después de la cena queréis seguir trabajando…

Imagine that every morning Debbie and Rebecca report all activities that you are going to perform throughout the day; that when you want to take a cup of coffee you just have to approach the bar and there it is. Or that you like to take a typical English tea and cakes, at five in the afternoon you can do it. Or that after dinner you want to continue working…

Y todo esto con estas vistas cada mañana.

And all this with these views every morning.

Ha sido un fin de semana fantástico y no sólo por la impecable organización. El placer de poder coincidir con amigas que hace tiempo que no ves. Esas estupendas conversaciones con Christine, Eva y Wolfi.

This has been a fantastic weekend and not only for the impeccable organization. The pleasure to meet some friends you haven’t seen for a long time; these great conversations with Christine, Eva and Wolfi.

¿Y qué decir de las profesoras?, Eva es una estupenda profesora, meticulosa y detallista, consigue que no pienses que el ejercicio tiene más complicación de la que aparenta y disfrutes con él. Detrás de su dulzura hay toda una profesional muy preparada.

What about the teachers? Eva is a great teacher, meticulous and detailed, she makes you not to think that the exercise is more complicated than it’s and gets that you enjoy with it. Behind the sweetness there are a highly trained professional.

Y la gran sorpresa con Melanie, aunque el viaje de vuelta no me dejó asistir a toda su clase, me encantó cómo a pesar de estar a miles de kilómetros de distancia ambas hemos llegado a trabajar de la misma manera. Esa es la magia de la arcilla polimérica.

And the big surprise with Melanie, although the return trip wouldn’t let me attend the whole workshop I loved how despite being thousands of miles away, we both work in the same way. That's the magic of polymer clay.

Las alumnas merecen una mención aparte, trabajadoras, dispuestas a aprender, a experimentar, a compartir…

The students deserve an special mention, hardworking, willing to learn, to experience, to share…

Lo dicho, si el año que viene Rebecca y Debbie organizan otra vez los PPP y podéis asistir no lo dudéis ni por un minuto, no os defraudará.

That said, if next year Rebecca and Debbie organized again and you can attend the PPP don’t hesitate it, you won’t get disappointed.
